PIA daily news in English, Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Waray, Pangalatok from around the Philippines: "Participants of the fora were composed of GA-WINGS focal persons from the different regional line agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCC), as well, as from the private and non-government organizations.
Among the topics included in the fora are: Gender and Poverty, Gender and Health, Gender and Education, Gender and Environment and Climate Change.
Euseña said women as leaders in risk management have potential to give big help in the society’s economic and environmental situations.
Meanwhile, Regional Director Edilberto Buiser of the Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-10, said empowering women to go on networking, among themselves, and form a core group that represents their community as part of the process in attaining the MDGs will be a good strategy.
“Women are stronger than men. They have the strength that lead them to manage the things around them well. It is in their genetic make–up,” Buiser said."
