PIA daily news in English, Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Waray, Pangalatok from around the Philippines: "Iloilo City, May 8 (PIA6) - A second round of information sessions on Doing Business in Free Trade Areas (DBFTA) targeting specific sectors is currently being undertaken by the Department of Trade and Industry in key cities of the country.
The seminar aims to increase nationwide awareness on the benefits of free trade agreements thru the conduct of information sessions. The project also hopes to engage the business sector to increase utilization of Philippine preferential trade agreements.
The first round of information sessions was successfully conducted in November and December last year, in 11 key cities in the country which included Metro Manila, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Davao, Cebu, Legaspi, Tagaytay, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio, General Santos and Clark in Pampanga.
According to Undersecretary for International Trade Adrian Cristobal Jr., the DTI has continued the DBFTA following the positive response of the business sector, with the common request from the attendees all over the country to conduct the Free Trade Areas seminar per industry for more focused discussions."
