PIA daily news in English, Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Waray, Pangalatok from around the Philippines: "In line with the dance fest, the National Committee on Dance headed by Shirley Halili-Cruz will hold a Dance Xchange 2011 with the theme “Cultural Connectivity through Dance.”
Halili-Cruz said the event aims to foster cooperation in the dance community, as well make the Philippines a destination for foreign dance companies. It also aims to provide a venue for interaction and insight from both local and foreign dances, and strengthen network among dance organizations.
The event will also serve as an opportunity for local and foreign dance groups to strut their moves in front of renowned dance companies who will take part in this event.
The two-part celebration will kick off with a national dance competition organized by the NCCA on April 25 and 26 to be followed by the international dance festival which will run from April 27 to 29."
