Property Guide - Property Guide -: "MANILA, Philippines—Environment Secretary Ramon Paje has called for a review of the country’s Building Code in light of the strong earthquakes that have hit the Asia-Pacific region recently.
In a statement, Paje said the Building Code should be updated to ensure that infrastructure and buildings can withstand strong tremors.
The code should also follow the latest Engineering Geological and Geohazard Assessment Report (Egcar) that was completed last year, he said.
The report shows the areas of the country that are located on or and near earthquake fault lines and which are prone to floods and landslides."
