Wellness Tip for Peace: Music boosts AFP morale | The Manila Bulletin Newspaper Online
Music boosts AFP morale | The Manila Bulletin Newspaper Online: "A memorandum of agreement for the caravan, which promotes building convergence for peace and communal unity thru culture, music, and art, was signed Monday between Armed Forces spokesman, Brig. Gen. Jose Mabanta, Jr. and singer-composer and OPM President Ogie Alcasid (real name Herminio Alcasid, Jr.), who is also a commissioner of the People Power Commission, at the Hall of Flags at Camp Aguinaldo.
The caravan, dubbed “Building a Convergence for Peace: A Bayanihan Culture and HIMIGSIKAN 2011: ROCKrakan para sa Kapayapaan Concert,” will be held on April 27 at the Camp Aguinaldo grandstand.
According to the AFP spokesman, the event primarily aims to boost the morale and pay tribute to the Filipino soldiers for their heroism and sacrifices in defending the freedom and independence enjoyed by the Filipino people.
It also aims to inculcate the values of creativity, Filipino identity and traditions, and the peaceful aspirations of the Filipino people through musical expressions.
The caravan also supports the reform initiatives of President Benigno Aquino III's Daang Matuwid and the Reform, Peace, Modernization and Morale of troops (RPMM) program of AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Eduardo SL Oban, Jr. It will also promote the AFP's IPSP 'Bayanihan' among soldiers, their immediate community, and other stakeholders."
